Wow, ok, well firstly, I must apologize for the long gap between updates. Needless to say, this has been a busy year. I?m currently working on a film for our third year projects over at Sheridan, and trying to learn some special effects (which I should mention is not taught in the Sheridan BAA curriculum). I?ll be at the Royal Winter Fair tomorrow and Friday, which should mean that on top of a few of the older stuff that I haven?t gotten around to adding to the site I?ll have a couple of brand spankin? new drawings for the gallery. Now? apology is out of the way, what else can I talk about since Sept 11th?
Ok, well how about how awesome Final Fantasy Advent Children is? Don?t get me wrong, I realize that the plot? well basically has more holes as a sieve? but anyone who was a fan of FFVII, or a student of animation, should without a doubt see this film. There?s some things that you will look at and? be in awe of the masterful craft that went into it. There?s just? something about their frame rate? that I really like. I wish I had a chance to talk with their effects artists? just phenomenal work.
I think my blood is going to start clotting if I don?t get my hands on Shadow of the Colossus soon. I?ve been going into withdrawal more and more each day since I played the demo, and knowing that it?s released? and that I need to not play video games right now? it?s like this primordial urge that?s calling out to me and somehow I have to ignore. I don?t know how I?ll still be sane come summer when Shadow, Kingdom Hearts 2, and Final Fantasy 12 will have all been released and my hands will have still not immersed themselves in their worlds.
Alright, well, no doubt I missed out on plenty of stuff that was worth bringing to the eyes of the public in the past two months. And for that, I again apologize for my negligence. I?ll try to have an update next Wednesday (sadly, I have more urgent matters which will most likely prevent me from doing anything on here before then.) But count on seeing *some* new work up here on my next update. In the meantime, here?s a digital painting that I meant to add here on October 4th.
On a side note, I spent money on computer upgrades, and have been playing with Realflow. This pleases me.
Well, it’s official: Sephiroth is able to kill Sora every time my hands are on the controller(Kingdom Hearts for PS2 anyone?). With that very important tidbit in mind, today’s addition to Allegromation is a picture of poor heartless Sora. I think that’s going to be enough fan art for now though, it’s time to get going on the concept art for the film I’ll be working on this year. I might also get some cleaning done on this ole site soon, I’ve got plenty of stuff in my gallery that really shouldn’t be there anymore. At any rate, I’m going to take off, as I’ve got a nice little project involving Maya 7.0 to try and complete in the next three weeks. Be sure to head over to the gallery in the meantime, and see Sora!
PS: I still want an I-Pod!
Wow, two updates in two days, that doesn’t happen very often! Not a whole lot new to report, although it’s pretty funny how we’ve got an Animation class… you know, now that we’re in third year… that is teaching us the information that we learned once in first year animation, and again in second year digital methodology…. Anyways, I’m sure that my life is much better now that I’ve once *again* watched Gertie the Dinosaur and learned what a Zoetrope is. Anyways, I just realized that I had another picture to add to the fan art, so be sure to check out the Megaman that I added yesterday as well as a piece I did with a game called Final Fantasy VII in mind. And now I shall go.

Egads, it’s been over a year already! A year of Allegromation! Maybe I should try and redesign this mad beast or something. Either that or I should put my energy into something that *really* needs to be done. Say… beating Sword of Mana or something. Which reminds me: I’ve officially completed 21 games since Christmas. Yes boys and girls, you are right, natural light does indeed hurt my eyes. But that’s ok! Well… maybe not, but as you can tell from the title of this news, school is once more in session. Group Films! That’s what’s on the menu today folks. Look forward to a nice pretty film to be on here at the end of the month. Concept stages start… well… a month ago for me, but there’s no guarantee that my film will be the group film. Anyways, enough of my ranting! I bought a new USB cable, and voila, good ole Allegro (my portable hard-drive) works once more! Why… I was so excited that I had to draw Megaman(See the Gallery)! PS: I still want an I-Pod!
Wow, hard to believe that it’s been over a month since I last updated this thing. If anyone wants to help me update this page now-and then, you should be sure to help me get an ipod! I can’t really afford a new hard-drive at the moment, so I’ll gladly send a money order worth $10 to the first five people to complete the offer for me! Trust me, it makes it much more frustrating to update when my portable hard-drive quote unquote malfunctions 14 out of 15 times when I plug it in. And of those times that the computer recognizes that it is in fact a Lacie drive… the data is corrupted 2 out of 3 times. So basically, what that means, is I’ve got only one picture updated to the gallery, and it’s one I did back in April. You’ll love it though *insert Jedi hand swipe here*. That being said, I am employed part-time, so… if I scrape by with absolutely no entertainment costs this year, and $150 a month on groceries… rent will get paid! Score! Stay tuned for more exciting news, found only at Allegromation.com
Still looking for financial backing, and unfortunately I?m not going to be able to update the gallery for a little bit longer. I?ve got a finished demo? but I have to still render a version with a reasonable file size for the web? and I’ve recently discovered that my portable hard drive is out of commission. I won?t be able to get that stuff rendered until I can afford to get it fixed. On a brighter note I recently played Tales of Symphonia (not in its entirety), and it?s a pretty good game? though I don?t quite think it lives up to its reputation. The cell shaded anime characters don?t meld well enough with the serious story, though the voice acting is good. The battles could have also been better if the camera didn?t always center player one ? making multiplayer battles confusing. All things considered, ’tis a very good RPG. I also attempted to play through Quest for Glory III, however it turns out that like all the other Sierra games, beating it is going to be a challenge? mostly due to glitches.
Whew… class has been out for a few weeks now, but I’ve been working pretty hard since it got out. I spent the first three weeks working on my demo reel / portfolio, (not to mention job hunting… starving artist, and starving student… not the best thing to be). On top of that, I’ve been receiving an education in Japanese(Hiragana) AND I beat Metal Gear Solid 3, Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, and Ninja Gaiden II this week. Oh… I’m older now too. I’ve been older for more than a week. Anyways, I’ve got some leftovers just waiting for me at home. Check back soon for some updates to the gallery!
Alrighty there folks, deadlines are upon us here at Sheridan, and I’ve got a lip-sync animation due Friday, volunteer work for 3rd year films due Monday, Layout and Digital Methodology due a week from tomorrow, and a Painting due on the 15th. I can’t wait for either the 3rd year screenings next week or Jeffery Katzenberg on the 15th. Anyways, just wanted to post a grand total of 15 new images to the gallery, and subtract a few as well for good measure. Oh, in other news, I went to see a Steve Vai concert on the weekend. That Steve Vai… what a nice little boy. It’s the second time I’ve seen him now (G3 last year was unbelievable) and the man just seems on even when he’s off. The concert rocked, though Massey Hall’s third floor seating leaves much to be desired as far as leg space goes. It is now 10:12pm, and I have homework to touch on, and so, I’m outta here.
Well, here we are again, back from another reading ?break” at Sheridan. And by back, I mean I never left the school, and by break, I mean I did homework the whole week. It?s ok though! I?m awaiting the arrival of Metroid Fusion *and* Zero Mission from eBay, and so it encouraged me to do my computer animation (which is now in the gallery). That?s right baby, modeling, rigging, and animation, the whole shebang, in a week! That other ?new” drawing is from back in September, but I forgot to ever add it here for some reason. Anyways, not a whole lot else new here, except trying to grasp 6-point perspective, play keep-up, and find time to eat. I could go for some Lipton?s Side Kicks right about now… anywhoo, back to the drawing board for me!
Long time no see! The fact of the matter is I almost forgot that I had this little home away from home away from home. I got everything done at the end of last semester and did pretty good grade-wise too. When it was all said and done, I returned to Nova Scotia for a busy little holiday visit, spent a good deal of money (earned none), and then came back to L’Ontario. Long story short, the first month of the 4th semester is almost up and I figured it was high time for a little update! So here we have a gift from me to you, 6 new additions to the Gallery. Well, mine hands are cold, and mine stomach is pleading to be filled so I’m outta here for now.
